Speaking Out For Tibet / 8 mins/ 2009
This short film is about Lobsang Dargye a Tibetan musician who escaped from Tibet 15 years ago. This film premiered in 2011 at the Ballinamore International Film Festival and won the award for Best Political Film.
Lobsang is currently the only Tibetan living in Co. Cork. In this film he talks about his meeting with the Dalai Lama after escaping from Tibet and how the protests in Tibet in 2008 encouraged him to start his own peaceful protests in Cork. He also hopes to raise awareness of the situation in Tibet by continuing to play traditional Tibetan music at concerts in Ireland and in Europe.
